Tooth replacement at the Cabinet Dentaire du Seujet

These days, preventive dentistry aims to preserve natural teeth for as long as possible and avoid extractions. Nevertheless, sometimes you need to say goodbye to one of your teeth. Perhaps because it is too badly damaged for us to be able to restore, or because it risks becoming infected and thus posing a danger to your health.

Whatever the case may be, we’ll discuss the various replacement options with you, one by one. Sometimes, you’ll need time to make a decision, so it’s important that you have all the information you need to make the right choice.

Dental implants

Dental implants are a modern and reliable method for replacing missing teeth. They involve inserting a titanium screw into the jawbone to replace a dental root. A crown, or a bridge, if the teeth on either side also need to be replaced, is then fixed on top of this artificial root.

Dental implants are an effective solution for filling toothless gaps. They act as fixed dentures that function discreetly in your mouth.

If fitting an implant becomes an option, Dr Sebastian Engelhardt will analyse your particular situation, assessing the space available, as well as the quality and quantity of available bone. He will then decide which type of implant is most suitable for the space and function required, but also based on the prognosis associated with your chewing habits.

We work in partnership with Straumann AG and Thommen Medical AG – two Swiss firms that are internationally renowned for the quality, reliability and precision of their dental implants.

Dr Sebastian Engelhardt also accepts patients referred by other practitioners who do not fit dental implants in their own clinics. A detailed report and recommendations regarding follow-up care are subsequently provided to the referring dentist. Dental implants require particular attention in terms of follow-up care during the first few years.

Out of respect for our colleagues and for reasons of professional ethics, we do not provide regular follow-up (treatment, descaling) for patients who have been referred to us by other colleagues. Thank you for your understanding.
